While visiting the islands you can explore 12 miles of pristine beaches, go on a wildlife tour, and observe some of the roughly 300 wild Chincoteague ponies that roam freely through the park. Camping is permitted in certain areas of the park and kayaking in the calmer waters of the bay side is a favorite way to take in all the wildlife.
